Aspen Highlands Mountain
Located only 3 miles from Downtown Aspen and within the White River National Forest sits the Aspen Highlands Mountain. It is known as the locals’ favorite mountain. Aspen Highlands features extreme terrain, groomed cruisers and breathtaking views of the Maroon Bells. If you want the ultimate skiing or snowboarding experience, hike up and drop into Highland Bowl. Aspen Highlands opens in early to mid december, Just in time to be perfect for holiday skiing. The closing date for this season is April 2nd, 2006, which gives you plenty of time t plan that late ski getaway. There will be lots of snow left, the Mountain averages 300 inches of snowfall per year.
There are 7 restaurants to choose from located at Aspen Highlands. There is The Merry-Go-Round, Cloud Nine Alpine Bistro, Soup Bowl at Cloud Nine, Willow Creek Bistro, Endeavor Internet Café & Bar, Iguana’s Bar & Grille & CRUST Pizzeria & Salad Bar. Along with these fantastic restaurants comes Four-Mountain Sports and BOOTech, Inc., both are reatil/rental outlets located at the base of the mountain.

The mountain is best known for its steep, big-mountain skiing in Highland Bowl, Olympic Bowl and Steeplechase and the best kept secret is the mid-mountain beginner and intermediate terrain and the lower mountain steeps.
New to the mountain is the Deep Temerity lift and trails, this fixed-grip triple chair will carry you 1,700 vertical feet in just 7.3 minutes, accessing 180 new acres of advanced, expert and extreme terrain in areas including the Highland Bowl runout, South Castle, Kessler Bowl and Soddbuster.
